I work with adults (18+) across Texas who feel overwhelmed, mentally stuck, or disconnected from themselves during difficult seasons of life. Many of my clients appear to be functioning well on the outside while feeling exhausted by constant overthinking, self-doubt, or the sense that they’re just barely holding it together. Therapy here isn’t about fixing you. It’s about creating space to understand what’s happening and helping you move forward with more clarity and compassion.
I believe most of us are doing the best we can with the tools we have. Sometimes those tools stop working, especially during major life transitions, periods of stress, trauma, or chronic sleep disruption. When that happens, it’s easy to feel frustrated with yourself or wonder why you can’t “just get it together.” Therapy is a place to slow things down, make sense of what’s happening, and find a way forward that feels more workable and aligned with the life you want to live.
ACT-Informed Therapy for Overthinking, Rumination, and Feeling Stuck
A core part of my work involves helping people who feel stuck inside their own minds: caught in cycles of mental overthinking, chronic worry, rumination, or nervous system distress. Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), along with cognitive and mindfulness-based approaches, we focus on unhooking from unhelpful thought patterns and shifting from endlessly talking about the problem to re-engaging with life, even when discomfort is present.
This approach is especially helpful for people who feel worn down by their own thoughts, emotions, or internal pressure and want to live with more intention rather than spending their lives inside their heads.
Therapy for Infertility, Pregnancy, and Postpartum Adjustment
I work extensively with individuals navigating infertility, pregnancy, and the postpartum period, including postpartum depression, anxiety, and adjustment-related distress. One thing I wish more people understood about this phase of life is how surprising it can feel to hold two very real truths at the same time: deeply wanting to become a parent, and then feeling shocked, overwhelmed, or like you’ve lost yourself once it happens.
Sleep deprivation, identity shifts, and grief for your old life can collide all at once, and many people suffer quietly while saying the “right” things. I understand this both professionally and personally, and I know how isolating that experience can be. Postpartum distress does not mean you made a mistake, and it does not mean this is how things will always feel.
CBT-I for Insomnia and Sleep Difficulties
Many of my clients experience nighttime dread, racing thoughts, or an exhausting cycle of worrying about sleep. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), the gold-standard treatment for chronic insomnia. CBT-I focuses on addressing the behaviors, thoughts, and patterns that keep sleep problems going, rather than relying on short-term fixes.
Trauma Therapy, Including Birth Trauma
I also provide trauma treatment using evidence-based approaches, including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). I work with individuals processing birth trauma as well as other traumatic experiences, helping them move toward greater integration, relief, and a renewed sense of safety.
My Therapy Style
My therapy style is warm, collaborative, and transparent. I’m active in sessions and will offer feedback, tools, and a clear plan while also creating space where you don’t have to perform or have the “right” answers. We’ll start exactly where you are, with a lot of kindness and respect for how hard things may feel right now.
Houston Postpartum Peer Support Group
In addition to individual therapy, I facilitate a free biweekly virtual postpartum support group, Houston Postpartum Peer Support, offering community, validation, and support for women across Texas who are adjusting to motherhood.

Education and Professional Experience
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International.
I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston–Clear Lake and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Trinity University in San Antonio. Prior to private practice, I worked for 10 years at the University of Texas Health Science Center in the Center for Neurobehavioral Research on Addiction, where I conducted psychological assessments and provided psychotherapy in grant-funded research trials focused on substance use and trauma-related disorders.
Practice Information
I co-founded the Houston Center for Valued Living in 2016 with the mission of creating a thoughtful, boutique therapy practice grounded in evidence-based care and human connection. I offer in-person therapy in Houston and virtual therapy for adults across Texas.
