I get it. The last thing you can think about when caring for a newborn is making time for your mental health. You barely have time to brush your teeth or take a shower.

Hear me out though. This group is different. Log on half awake in your pjs from your couch. Seriously. It’s that simple. The hardest part of the group? Just remembering what actual day it is so you don’t forget to log in. But don’t worry, I’ll send you a reminder email 🙂

Why take care of your mental health? Why a support group? Motherhood is nothing short of a challenge. We live in a world of Pinterest Perfectionism and Facebook Fantasies. People you know might tell you that motherhood is hard, but I find it difficult to find many people being real about the daily struggle!

Having a baby can be like being hit with a ton of bricks. Bricks that spit up on you, leak poop, keep you up at night, and cry a lot. Bricks that can also be totally snugly and cute too. Bricks that don’t have instructions and you don’t always know what’s to do with them. Babies are a lot better than bricks, but wow they are a lot more complicated too.

If you want to drop the charade of “having it all together” and “balancing it all” and connect with other moms who are right there where you are, Houston Postpartum Peer Support is for you. Gain support, validation, encouragement, humor, and a renewed sense that you can make it through the rest of your day! Join for one meeting, or come to many. It’s up to you. 

Everything can seem hard when you first have a baby. Getting support doesn’t have to be though. It should be easy. Accessible. Free.
