Holiday Grief Group

Finding Your Way Through the Holidays After Loss

The holiday season can stir up complicated emotions after loss. While others may seem to move easily through celebration and togetherness, you might find yourself feeling sadness, anger, or longing for someone who’s no longer here. The traditions, songs, and gatherings that once brought joy can now feel heavy or isolating. If this season feels tender or overwhelming, you’re not alone.

Finding Your Way Through the Holidays After Loss is a four-week virtual group designed to help you approach the holidays with care, compassion, and community. Together, we’ll create space to honor your grief, share your experiences, and find ways to move through this season with gentleness and meaning.

What We’ll Explore

Each week will focus on a key theme to help you navigate the holidays in a way that supports your emotional well-being:

  • Understanding Holiday Emotions: Making sense of the complex feelings that arise this time of year.

  • Creating a Plan That Supports You: Developing boundaries, rituals, and routines that meet your needs.

  • Navigating Social Situations: Finding words and strategies for gatherings, invitations, and conversations.

Honoring and Remembering: Creating personal ways to celebrate and carry forward the memory of your loved one.

About Allison

This group is facilitated by Allison Hamilton, MS, NCC, LPC-Associate, supervised by Christen Sistrunk, LPC-S.
Allison specializes in grief support and reproductive mental health counseling, with a focus on helping individuals and couples navigate infertility, pregnancy loss, and the many forms of grief that accompany life transitions. Her personal experiences – including infertility, pregnancy losses, and the death of a sibling, have given her a heartfelt understanding of how loss transforms us.
She approaches her work with warmth, empathy, and a steady, grounding presence, helping clients create space for both grief and growth. Allison believes that healing doesn’t mean “moving on,” but finding meaningful ways to carry love and memory forward.
